Martial Art Strikes and Kicks Form
Claw Hand Strike
ATTACK
Circular
PRIMARY AREA
Eyes, face, neck
The Claw Hand formed by placing the palm over the forehead and spreading the fingers. The fingers are then tightened to solid claws. Pull from the head and face outward, like that of a tiger.
Striking surface is the tips of the fingers, but some strikes can utilize a palm finger strike. Attack is circular and seldom linear.
These strikes are circular with fluid movements. This movement is effective in blocking and catching an opponents limb. Primary striking areas are the eyes, neck and face.
Applications:
Striking surface is broadened by using spread out fingers; covers more area while striking
Very easy to apply, very little skill required
Striking of the targeted areas; easy access to eyes
Thumb Jab Strike

The thumb jab is formed by first folding the fingers except the index as you would in creating a fist. The index finger is then folded once to create a base for which the thumb can rest slightly protruding.
Striking surface is the point of the thumb. The attack is linear and often circular.
This strike is for soft areas around bone, nerves and sides of the neck Used with natural body movement and precision. Primary striking areas are neck, eyes and solar plexus.

High amount of pressure on a small surface area like a point of a nail into wood
Use as a break up, especially in grappling type situation
Spear Thrust

The Spear Thrust is made by making the hand flat and striking with the tips of the fingers. Fingers need to be conditions by first, striking your other palm to build up the tendons and bones etc.

Further strike reach with fingers extended
Snapping Eye
ATTACK
Linear
PRIMARY AREA
Eyes
Formed by relaxing the fingers of the hand.
Striking surface is the ends of the fingers on the points and back sides.
This technique is performed by leashing the hand out and pulling it back to create a snap with the fingers at the target. Primary striking areas are the eyes.
Applications:
Break up
Further strike reach with fingers extended
NOTE:
Because these strikes can be used in so many variations, we must classify them in their own section. However, one must realize that when studying the Martial Science and Martial arts, nothing can really be classified at all. We must keep a constant open mind and use what we learn to help us adapt to our movements as a whole. To categorize would be to systemize the art and that only serves its purpose commercially. So remember, when training, do not program yourself to a set number of techniques or angles. That’ s a process of limitation and the Total Warrior is never limited.
