Martial Art Stances
Designed to lower ones silhouette in the practice of invisibility.
This stance is used for situations that require the practitioner to decrease their apparent size (do not use when faced with mountain lions) and/or sink into the shadows or behind an obstacle.
Hands are prepared to acquire a tool, weapon or take dirt, grass, or sand from the ground. The stance can also be used in preparation for a reverse roll. By shifting the weight from one side to the other, the practitioner can scan an area for danger.
How to perform the Low Defensive Stance
Step back deep with the rear leg.
Turn the rear foot at an angle and bend the knee.
Lower your weight and lean into the rear leg keeping the back straight.
The lead foot is slightly turned with the knee bent slightly.
Lower your hips and bend your knees leaning back as low as possible.
The left arm rests on the lead leg the rear hand is held inside the right knee.
